Upcoming Microsoft Entra Connect Update – Action Required by April 7, 2025

Microsoft has announced a critical hardening update that will take effect on April 7, 2025, requiring all customers to upgrade Microsoft Entra Connect Sync to the minimum supported version:
- 2.4.18.0 for customers in commercial clouds
- 2.4.21.0 for customers in noncommercial clouds
What Happens if You Don't Upgrade?
- Authentication failures when using the Entra Connect Sync wizard
- AD FS & PingFederate configuration issues in the wizard
- Loss of wizard functionality requiring Entra ID sign-in
The Good News
- Sync services will continue to function after the deadline
- You can still upgrade at any time to restore full functionality

- TLS 1.2 enabled
- .NET Framework 4.7.2 or later installed
