Position Description: 

The Client Relationship Manager supports assigned Account Managers, drives existing and new business within our client base, and generates comprehensive proposals. You will work closely with field-based business partners with a requirement of understanding partner programs, targeting new accounts with business development, and helping with event promotion and order execution. 

 

This role will work closely with outside sales in achieving key sales objectives, managing calendars and arranging in-person and teleconference meetings with clients and prospects.

The Client Relations Manager provides a roadmap for a candidate who would like the opportunity for advancement to a lucrative career in outside consultative sales. The position, if executed properly, will lay the foundational skills in technology selling, business value propositions, and the appropriate hunting skills for a long-term career in technology sales.

 

This will allow the right candidates to develop the skills needed to be successful in the rewarding and highly competitive field of technology sales. Katalyst has a proven methodology in building the right skills for a sustainable career in IT.

Responsibilities/ Job Function:  

  • Work closely with the outside sales team in achieving quarterly objectives

  • Work closely with Business Development and Marketing by bringing in new clients with strategic demand generation campaigns

  • Collaborate closely with the outside sales team in driving upsells in Katalyst’s Services, Software and Maintenance products and programs.

  • Work to maintain the highest levels of client satisfaction

  • Adhere to a defined professional roadmap that includes independent study, shadowing, and ultimately showcasing proficiency in the variety of skills required for consultative technology sales

  • Supports assigned Account Manager in all opportunities including but not limited to entering pre-sales requests, post-sales order processing and any client follow up, as needed

  • Assist with entering pre-sales requests, post-sale order processing tasks and any client follow-up tasks as directed by sales team

  • Build quotes, review contract terms, price negotiation, identify up-sell opportunities and ability to handle objections.

  • Conduct initial needs analysis for prospective clients

  • Perform partner Deal Registrations for OEM opportunities for your assigned sales team

  • Prepare purchase orders by verifying specifications and price; obtain recommendations from suppliers for substitute items

  • Work with multiple suppliers to process orders; monitor and expedite orders as required

  • Be able to work overtime as workload requires during end of month, quarter and year.

  • Confer with vendors to obtain and/or negotiate product or service information, availability and delivery schedule; for all internal and external orders

  • Coordinate internal purchasing needs on not for resale (NFR) as needed internally

  • Work closely with leadership in scheduling meetings, providing order updates and status of inflight business as needed

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Solid instincts of sales and client service

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

  • Excellent organizational skills including but not limited to being able to work independently as well as possess strong problem solving, organization and client service skills

  • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects/deadlines simultaneously along with a strong attention to detail and accuracy

  • Able to wear multiple hats and juggle different types of responsibilities when needed

  • Will need to develop knowledge base of end to end renewals cycle

  • Strong knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Salesforce.com and QuoteWerks experience a plus

 

Compensations/Benefits: Will be commensurate with experience and skills 

 

Estimated travel:  No overnight is expected in this role aside from possible training opportunities every few

months. Estimated 1 +/- of day travel per week as needed.
