We are looking to hire a seasoned and Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to strengthen our team of highly qualified and certified Engineers. As a Cybersecurity Engineer at Katalyst, you will primarily be responsible for the design, deployment, and support of IT infrastructure projects for our client base in the Carolina’s. The position will require collaboration with our pre-sales engineering team for customer meetings, analysis in conceptual design, and product research. We need an advanced expertise in managing and maintaining network security systems to provide daily support to our valued client base.  To be a successful Senior Cybersecurity Engineer at Katalyst you will need the technical know-how as well as the interpersonal skills to be a true consulting engineer and team player.

 

Job Functions:  

  • Design and deployment of security solutions including NGFW / NGIPS, S2S VPN, Remote Access VPN, MFA, NAC, Web / DNS filtering, Endpoint Security, EDR and Email Security.

  • Work directly with Katalyst partners to design solutions and deploy cutting edge technologies with vendor best practices.

  • Assist clients in troubleshooting network and security incidents.

  • Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions for client security requests.

  • Create and maintain documentation for projects and/or ad-hoc client requests.

  • Review in depth logs on various platforms to guide clients on both performance, functionality and/ or security concerns.

  • Train customers on the various technologies that we design and deliver on.

  • Work closely with Project Manager’s to ensure project scope and timeline are defined and maintained.

  • Regularly collaborate with pre-sales engineers to scope out level of effort for services and products.

  • Occasionally meet with customers to work through designs of solutioning different technologies.

 

Qualifications/Experience: 

  • Experience

    • 6+ years total work experience in IT.

    • 3+ of those years directly in a security specific role. 

    • 4+ of those years in a consulting or customer service role.

  • Required

    • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) – Security or equivalent certification.

    • Detailed understanding of the TCP/IP protocols and security practices at all layers of the OSI model. 

    • Hands on production experience of at least several of the following technologies: NGFW / NGIPS, S2S VPN, Remote Access VPN, MFA, NAC, Web / DNS filtering, Fort EMS, Forti Authenticator, Endpoint Security, EDR and Email Security

    • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders. 

    • Must demonstrate strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner.

    • Ability to use discretion when handling confidential information. 

    • Ability to effectively perform in a team environment. 

  • Preferred

    • Industry Security certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH, CISM, CISSP and CCSP, or more specifically, Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) 

    • Working with project managers on a defined scope of work for a project.

    • Knowledge of some security frameworks (NIST, IAM, PCI, CIS, ISO 27K, etc.)

    • Working knowledge of Cisco security products including Firepower, Identity Services Engine, Umbrella, Cloud Email Security or Email Security Appliance.

    • Working knowledge of Fortinet security products including: NGFW, IPS, VPN, Forti Authenticator, Fort EMS

    • Experience in security maintenance of network and security devices in a large enterprise environment (routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).

    • Knowledge of automation to design and deploy security solutions.

    • Cloud Security Management exposure.
