Katalyst is looking to hire a motivated individual to join our company as an IT Operations Engineer. As part of our Operations Team, you oversee maintenance, hardware and software upgrades, and repairs of network issues, and infrastructure. You will develop creative solutions in close collaboration with key business partners, develop and implement new processes to prevent future maintenance needs, and employ continual improvement processes to identify areas ripe for improvement and streamlining. This is a vital technical position, and our ideal candidate has at least three years of professional experience in a role related to information technology and operations.
Responsibilities/ Job Function

Supports and enhances client and internal infrastructure and related software solutions.

Works directly with Katalyst’s partners to leverage vendor and industry best practices.

Assists clients in troubleshooting network and security incidents.

Moves, Adds, Changes, and Deletions for client security requests.

Creates and maintains documentation for projects and/or ad-hoc client requests.

Reviews in depth logs on various platforms to guide clients on both performance, functionality and/ or security concerns.

Provides root cause analysis for business-critical issues.

Works closely with others in a managed services environment with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement.

Regularly collaborates with Katalyst engineering and clients to resolve issues and suggest solutions.
Qualifications/Experience ​

3+ years total work experience in IT
-
2+ years in an Operational Support role
-
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
-
Understanding of the TCP/IP protocols and security practices at all layers of the OSI model.
-
Hands on production experience of at least several of the following technologies: NGFW / NGIPS, S2S VPN, Remote Access VPN, MFA, Web / DNS filtering, and Endpoint Security.

Working knowledge of Cisco products including Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki.

Experience with compute, storage, virtualization, and public cloud a plus.

Experience in maintenance of network and security devices in a client environment (routers, switches, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems).

Ability to prioritize a dynamic workload while delivering exceptional client experience.

Working with Managed Services leadership to optimize operational processes.

Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders.

Must demonstrate strong analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to set priorities and adapt to changes in a quick, professional manner.

Ability to use discretion when handling confidential information.

Ability to effectively perform in a team environment.
